Our main production method is hand loom fabric weaving where cotton yarn is first hand-dyed and then woven into premium quality fabric using a traditional wooden loom.
The handwoven fabric is then cut, sewn and assembled into the finished product by women artisans in small batches.
Production is done in small fairtrade cottage workshops located in small towns in Sri Lanka. We don’t use factories or assembly lines.
This is a perfect example of small-batch independent manufacturing.
Because we use eco-friendly and sustainable methods of manufacturing such as handloom weaving we are able to maintain an extremely low carbon footprint.
Our women artisans work in safe fairtrade workshops at home or close to their home.
They are paid a living wage and provided secure employment.
Often they are the sole income earners in their families.
We strive to be good for the people and good for the environment with our handmade bean bags.
