Multi-faceted creator Nihara Fernando is a photographer, artisanal craftworker and interior designer. Her latest project Botanic Hues is the culmination of years of experimentation with a multitude of traditional dyeing techniques using natural raw materials. Completely hands-on throughout the process, Nihara has spent many hours of iterative and painstaking work trying to understand and master the ancient methods involved in the often unpredictable process of natural hand-dyeing.

The colourants are biodegradable, renewable and non-toxic natural resources derived from leaves, roots, tree bark, flowers and seeds. Organic dyes provide a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic alternatives.
