The most commonly used filler is polystyrene beans because it's easy to find and convenient to use. However a lot of our customers use natural filler such as buckwheat hulls, black beans, cedar shavings and kapok.

In the case of polystyrene beans, the optimal volume is 250-275L (9 cu.ft) or 2 1/2 100L filler bags. It's harder to recommend exact quantities for natural material because the samples often vary greatly. Do get in touch with us if you have any questions; we will do our best to help!

We make our bean bags with high gauge cotton fabric. The fabric is expertly woven on a traditional wooden loom by skilled artisans, belonging to traditional fabric weaving lineages in Sri Lanka.

Hank-dyeing

We use hank-dyeing to manually dye our fabric. It’s an intricate process involving multiple rounds of dipping, dyeing and washing.This gives our bean bags vibrant, long-lasting colors.

Artisan Techniques

Our bean bags feature intricate features such as drawn thread work and ribbed fabric textures; all done by hand.These add a whole layer of beauty, intricacy and sophistication.
