This was exactly what I was looking for. The fabric used is beautiful and the colors are the perfect shade of vibrancy and slightly muted. It is the perfect shape for my body and my favorite place to read and write.
The source material for our bean bags is cotton fabric of different gauges. This fabric is painstakingly woven on a traditional wooden loom by skilled artisans, often belonging to traditional fabric weaving lineages in Sri Lankan villages.
We use hank-dyeing to manually dye cotton yarn that’s used to weave our fabric. It’s a time-consuming process involving multiple rounds of dipping, dyeing and washing cotton yarn. This process is responsible for the vibrant and enlivening colors of our bean bags.
Our bean bags feature highly skilled and intricate techniques such as drawn thread work, ribbed fabric textures. These are all demanding techniques that add a whole layer of beauty, intricacy and sophistication.
